The first Recycle Rings have been built, and tested installation throughout Hoboken.

Last week, I tested them on every trash can style (there are three styles on Washington Street), and the easily and successfully attached to every can. I AM SO VERY EXCITED. I also will be leaving one of them on overnight, and I will post the results of that in the next entry. Thanks to everyone for your support.

Thanks for the comment Margaret, hopefully you will be seeing these all over NYC and Hoboken in the near future.

I have never seen anything like this in nyc, congratulations on this huge effort, it’s a great idea and perhaps a similar concept could be done here in Switzerland, although we are very green and do not lack recycling bins as such, however our apartment buildings not always offer a designated space for plastic bottle recycling. Keep up the excellent work!

Thanks so much for the support Eleni! I am just trying to do something to reduce the amount of plastic ending up in our oceans and our landfills. How did you find out about Recycle Ring?

  • Eleni

    Hi Mike!
I found the page on facebook as I am involved in recycling initiatives (Green Drinks Switzerland, Global Environmental Forum (based in Zurich), as well as a couple other projects too, therefore always checking out for relevant info.
Please feel free to connect on facebook if you would like to start sharing/exchanging relevant info.
    Wishing you a good day
